On March 22, 2008
I
took this picture this past weekend of Tommy White and my dad,
Boogie Sherrard backstage at the Opry. Tommy was so kind to make
possible a wonderful night of memories for Dad. It was awesome to
see all the super pickers and Opry stars there. We got to see our
good friend Tommy and Hoot Hester from Kentucky. Dad saw a Marrs
steel that he would have liked to have talked to the picker about.
Unfortunately we didn't get the chance however.
Dad and Duane started "piddlin" with makin steels together in an ole
shed that dad built behind our house in E-town back in the early
1960's. We drove by there on our way back home Sunday. The shed is
still standing but in a state of "pitiful" now. But I'm sure dad
conjured up those memories in his mind as we looked at it. It was a
special weekend and I would like to thank Tommy once again for the
chance to bring dad down to the Opry! What a truly remarkable young
man Tommy has become. We are very proud to call you friend Tommy!
